Harman/Kardon Unveils New AVRs
Harman/Kardon has announced new audio/video receivers: the 7.1-channel AVR 347 and AVR 247, and the 5.1-channel AVR 147 and AVR 146. All four models boast multi-input HDMI video switching, able to pass HD video signals up to 1080p in resolution. The AVR 347 and AVR 247 incorporate DCDi by Faroudja technology, which provides upscaled and enhanced 720p video output from 480i and 480p video sources.
The AVR 347 and AVR 247 also feature audio processing and signal repeater functionality via their HDMI outputs, and video cross-conversion circuitry (transcoding), which converts all S-video and composite video sources to HDMI and component video output. All four receivers offer various digital and analog video and audio connections, and include an A/V Sync Delay function to compensate for the delay between video and audio signals.
“For the first time, all Harman/Kardon audio video receivers in the lineup feature HDMI connectivity as a standard feature,” explained Donny Coffin, Product Specialist with Erikson Consumer. “And for high-definition enthusiasts, thanks to the powerful Faroudja DCDi video engine, the AVR 247 and AVR 347 have the video prowess to match the legendary audio performance that HK users have come to expect.”
